I think you've just taken the prize for the 'most out of season thing for January' ;)

I enjoy your blog. Where do you purchase your french shallots seeds or otherwise. I am in California.
Thank you in advance.

lol VP I thought so myself ;D

Juls - thanks for your comment. I get my French shallots as sets - I was given the first lot and the second (the Echalote Grise) I bought at a potato day. I know Thompson & Morgan are international - they have Echalote Grise http://www.thompson-morgan.com/vegetables/all-other-vegetables/onion-shallot-and-garlic-sets/shallot-echalote-grise-autumn-planting/aww4034TM and Hative de Niort http://www.thompson-morgan.com/vegetables/all-other-vegetables/onion-shallot-and-garlic-sets/shallot-hative-de-niort/aww4155TM but I'm looking at their stock from the UK side so you'd have to go onto their US website and see if it's there too. Good luck!

Mine are still having a go. Not ripening enough for me, but one of the chickens loves anything red, so I chuck them in the run for her to find.
